With a gentle Jesus in our midst, He desires to fill our hearts with blessings and inflame them with His love for justcoming to spend time with Him; and, in doing so, we make reparation for all mankind’s indifference and neglect. “We should yearn to spend time with our Eucharistic Lord because Adoration can bring forth healing to ourselves, our families, our society and to our world.” (Fr. S. McKinley, OFM Conv., Ass. Pastor of Holy Family R.C. Church, Peoria, Ill.) Each time we look at The Most Blessed Sacrament, -

Report on our visit to Sudbury by the Senatus of Ontario April 18-20, 2008
On April 18th, four members of the Legion of Mary went to Sudbury, Ontario, to attend the Acies at St. Mathieu, and hold a Columban drive after Mass on Saturday evening. A Columban drive was also held on Sunday at Our Lady of Hope Parish after the 9am Mass.
The Acies, held on Saturday April 19th, 2PM was attended by 45 Legionaries and was conducted in both English and French, followed by a Mass in French. Fr. Tremblay, the parish priest, is a devoted member of the Legion and promotes it with great passion as he loves Our Blessed Mother very much. A reception was held afterwards with Sr. Marilyn giving a talk. We attended the 7pm French Mass for the Columban drive and handed out rosaries, pamphlets, medals and literature on the Legion. People were very receptive. Br. John gave a presentation on the benefits of joining the Legion of Mary and encouraged parishioners to give it some thought .. On Sunday we attended the 9am Mass at Our Lady of Hope Parish. This Mass was well attended and the Columban drive was very successful. The pastor encouraged parishioners to join the Legion as he would like a Praesidium in the parish. He wanted us to stay for the next Mass and do another drive but that will be held in the future by Legionaries who live in Sudbury. Sr. Marilyn gave a talk after Mass and it was well received. Literature, rosaries, medals and prayer cards were given out and two prospective members signed up. The weekend was a great success and we enjoyed our visit with the legionaries we correspond with and those we met for the first time.Submitted Sr. Dolly Moyse
ACIES APRIL 6, 2008 AT 2:00 pm ASSUMPTION PARISH 320 OLMSTEAD PARISH VANIER - Hosted by Our Lady Queen of Peace Praesidium- approximately 300 in attendance
Throughout the ceremony the "Our Lady Queen of Peace Praesidium" choir provided us with beautiful music beginning with Immaculate Mary and closing with Holy God we Praise Thy Name. Sister Marilyn welcomed us all, and led the opening prayers and rosary. Father Pedro Arana, Pastor of Assumption, gave the homily. He recounted a beautiful story of his first experience with legionaries when he was in the Phillipines. They had asked him to visit a dying lady who lived in a mud shanty. She had no family and no one to care for her except for these members of the Legion of Mary. Father Pedro regarded their efforts as heroic and ever since then he has had tremendous admiration for the legion of Mary. He explained the latin word ACIES, meaning as it does, an army arranged in battle array, and how it is appropriate to a ceremony in which the legionaries as a body assemble to renew their fealty to Mary, Queen of the Legion, and from her to receive strength and blessing for yet another year's battle with the forces of evil. Just as soldiers are completely obedient to their officers and do anything and everything demanded of them, Legionnairies demonstrate total surrender to God and Mary. We made our individual consecrations after which Father Anthony Hannon led us in our collective consecration. After the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, sister Marilyn led the closing prayers and thanked Father Pedro, Father Anthony and Our Lady Queen of Peace Praesidium. All were invited for a reception in the parish hall .
The Legion of Mary December Function was cancelled so that all members active and auxiliary of The Legion of Mary would have the opportunity to attend the Celebration of our Diocesan Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, at the opening of this Liturgical Year dedicated to Mary and the Eucharist. We express our thank you to all our members who attended this first formal function planned by our new Archbishop, His Excellency Terrence Prendergast on Saturday December 8th, at Notre Dame Cathedral . After the 10 AM Mass, all were invited to a reception in the Church hall at which time our president sister Marilyn Montminy presented our Archbishop with a Spiritual Bouquet from the Legion with assurances "of our continued prayers, service and loyalty to Your Excellency and Holy Mother Church as we journey with Mary to Jesus."
